Fitch Ratings has assigned Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) B.V's USD 1 billion 5.35% guaranteed senior unsecured notes due 2024 and EUR 750 million 3.375% guaranteed senior unsecured notes due 2021 a final rating of 'BBB-'.
The final rating follows the receipt of documents conforming to information already received, and is in line with the expected rating assigned on May 12, 2014 for the euro notes and May 11, 2014 for US dollar notes.
The notes are unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by India's Bharti Airtel (Bharti, BBB-/Stable) and are therefore rated at the same level as Bharti's long-term issuer default Rating of 'BBB-'.
Bharti will use the proceeds from the proposed notes to refinance part of its existing debt and for general corporate purposes.
The terms and conditions of the proposed bond are identical to Bharti's existing guaranteed bonds of USD 1.5 billion due 2023, EUR 1.5 billion due 2018 and CHF 350 million due 2020. The notes will rank pari passu with the issuer's existing and future senior unsecured indebtedness.
Shares of the company gained Rs 9.45, or 2.79%, to settle at Rs 347.75. The total volume of shares traded was 753,537 at the BSE (Tuesday).
